Job Title: Associate Patient Care Coordinator

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary:
The Associate Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for patients by managing front-office operations, supporting clinical staff, and providing exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for patient check-in and check-out procedures, scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Primary Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming and efficient check-in process.
Manage patient wait times and coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff.
Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations and/or pre-certifications for procedures, and collect required documentation.
Process patient payments, including co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles, and issue receipts.
Handle walk-in patients and visitors in a professional and timely manner.
Answer and route phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist callers with questions or concerns.
Manage patient medical records, including scanning, filing, and preparing documentation for scheduled visits.
Process requests for the release of medical records and maintain appropriate logs.
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all HIPAA and organizational policies.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED (or higher)
1+ year of experience in a customer service or healthcare administrative role
Proven ability to multi-task and resolve patient concerns in a timely and professional manner
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred:
Experience in a healthcare, clinic, or patient access environment
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
