    Job Duties

    Immediate opening for a paid intern to assist our Reserve Specialist within our company.

    The successful candidate will be provided training and work with our Reserve Specialist in assessing HOA and Condominium building communities. More specifically, the individual will assess the condition of the various common area components of a condominium building or hoa such as facilities plant, roof, asphalt, concrete, etc. These components are items that are the replacement cost responsibility of the association members and a detailed report is prepared that will allow them to properly prepare for the replacement based on assessments charged and the lifespan of the items of being assessed.

    In addition to preparing new reserve studies, previous reserve studies will be updated and/or reviewed annually to address the accuracy as well as determine if variables throughout the year(s) have/will modify the study. The intern will drive to various communities within the DC metro area taking pictures of specific components and discussing with the Reserve Specialist his/her findings. A report, in a specific format, will be created and sent to the Board of Directors. In some cases, the Board likes to meet with the individuals assessing these components so that they fully understand the process and how their assessments will be spent in the future. The assessment of the compenents in a community will occur during the day (daylight) and we can work around your class schedule.

    This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week or more during summer. Based on performance, we are looking to bring this person on full time should he/she meet all of the expectations and desire to work at our company full time. This is usually shown through initiative the can do attitude shown as you work with the team members within our company.

    Learning Objective

    * Intern will become more proficient in Microsoft Office through the use of Word, Excel, and other programs needed to communicate and perform the tasks with the Reserve Studies.

    * Intern will learn the Reserve Study program and be able to understand how each of the pages tie back to the initial information inserted into the program;

    * Intern will become more proficient in communications and presentation skills by reveiewing and presenting Reserve Studies with internal and external clients as deemed necessary;

    * Intern will become proficient with the Reserve Study process and how this process impacts the association owner's home value and the desirability of the community;
