The team is comprised of 800+ professionals responsible for implementing and supporting our Aladdin clients, sales and marketing, and ensuring the Aladdin Community maximizes Aladdin products through engagement and education.
Role Description
The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) within BlackRock Solutions delivers actionable insights to our investment and client teams, grounded in our proficiency of Aladdin data, technology and processes. PAG collaborates with investors, risk managers, portfolio consultants and Aladdin business teams to address client challenges with innovative technology solutions delivered with the scale of Aladdin across all asset classes and client segments. We ensure successful, high impact delivery of results aligned with our stakeholders’ priorities
We are seeking multiple self-motivated Applied Analytics Associates to provide analytical solutions to ETFs and Index Investments (EII), Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions (MASS), and US Wealth Advisory (USWA) teams. Collectively, these three businesses deliver BlackRock’s full set of capabilities – index, alpha, alternatives, and whole portfolio solutions – to create a better financial future for our clients.
The Applied Analytics Associate would be an experienced member of the Portfolio Analytics Group and will be engaging with stakeholders and partners in creating, enhancing, and supporting leading-edge Analytical solutions that solve most pressing analytical needs of BlackRock investment teams. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate problem solving skills, teamwork and strategic thinking to apply BlackRock Aladdin's analytical capabilities in new and innovative ways while working collaboratively with the various stakeholders and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Develop analytics and technical solutions that align with the Firm’s strategic focus areas including whole portfolio construction, ETFs and ESG
Develop deskside applications, analytic insights and analytic models to scale the investment process, drive sales enablement, and support product selection by both the portfolio management and sales consultants
Partner with technology departments to evolve tactical solutions into scalable products that can be offered commercially
Serve as an ambassador for our solutions externally with clients and participate in business development activities
Build inclusive teams across the community of internal groups and influence key partners and project sponsors to achieve greater consensus
Respond to inquiries and enhancement requests from clients and serve as the subject matter expert in internal & external client discussions
General Qualifications
At least 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry, familiarity with Investment Management or FinTech platforms is desirable.
Strong critical thinking and confirmed experience using technology to solve problems at scale
Outstanding academic achievement, degree in business, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field of study
Relentless desire for understanding how processes work. Creativity in solving unconventional problems, entrepreneurial drive to learn new skills and technologies.
Strong knowledge and experience with Python, SQL, and UNIX. Front end web development (Angular, React) is a bonus.
Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly
Ability and willingness to learn fast, multi-task, self-motivate and pick up new things easily
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Experience in product and project management is a big plus. Ability to structure multiple communication streams and manage workflows, as well as time management skills are required.
