As an Associate Attorney, you'll step into a dynamic role where your litigation expertise will shine. You'll manage legal cases with confidence and initiative, particularly within the realms of the Marchman Act and Guardianship. While experience in the behavioral health sector is a plus, it’s your drive and courtroom presence that truly matter. We offer a competitive compensation package, ranging from $130,000 to $170,000 annually, with additional incentives. After an initial period of in-office onboarding, you’ll benefit from flexible work arrangements, including remote or hybrid options. Responsibilities: Legal Representation: • Provide expert legal representation to clients in matters related to the Marchman Act & Guardianship. • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each case. • Prepare and file necessary legal documents, petitions, and motions. Courtroom Advocacy: • Attend court hearings and proceedings on behalf of clients. • Prepare clients for court hearings. • Present compelling arguments and evidence to support client cases. • Engage in negotiations and settlements when appropriate. Client Consultation: • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and concerns. • Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients. • Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases. Collaboration: • Collaborate with other attorneys, legal professionals, and staff within the firm. • Work closely with external stakeholders, including social workers, medical professionals, and court officials. Compliance and Ethics: • Ensure all legal activities and processes comply with relevant laws and ethical standards. • Stay updated on changes in legislation and case law related to guardianship and behavioral health. Documentation and Record Keeping: • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation. • Prepare detailed reports for clients and the firm as needed. Professional Development: • Stay informed about developments in guardianship and behavioral health law. • Attend continuing legal education (CLE) programs to enhance expertise. Qualifications: Required: • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. • Admission to the state bar in Florida. • 3-5 years of experience in Litigation. • Proven courtroom experience. • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred: • Guardianship, Marchman Act, and/or Behavioral Health Law experience. Compensation: $130,000 - $170,000 yearly
