Our law firm is looking for the next associate attorney to assist in providing legal counsel to clients. You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. If you’ve recently graduated from law school, have excellent fact-finding and communication skills, and are ready to jump-start your career in the legal industry, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities: • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff • Attend depositions, mediations, and other matters. • Handle client matters from start to finish, with limited supervision by senior attorneys or partners. Qualifications: • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) • Must be a member of the Georgia Bar in good standing. • Experience in bankruptcy or commercial litigation of at least 1-2 years is required. Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 yearly
