Associate Attorney – Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Litigation (Ontario, CA)

Tired of the relentless demands of big firm life? Ready to trade the race for partnership for a steady, rewarding practice you can build a career around? Vistas Law Group, LLP, a boutique firm in Ontario, California, offers the refreshing change you’ve been looking for.

We specialize in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and estate litigation. We’re a close-knit team that values loyalty, steadiness, and mutual respect. We celebrate achievements together, invest in mentorship, and support each other through challenging matters. Our team thrives on open communication, professionalism, and a shared commitment to exceptional client service.

    About the Role

We’re looking for a hardworking, dependable Associate who wants to make Vistas Law Group their long-term professional home. This role is ideal for an attorney who finds fulfillment in doing excellent work for clients, values stability and balance, and is looking to settle in with one team for the long haul rather than use the position as a stepping stone.

Our clients often come to us during some of the most difficult moments of their lives: the loss of a loved one, family conflict, or hard decisions about the future. We’re seeking an attorney with genuine emotional intelligence who can listen with patience, counsel with compassion, stay composed when emotions run high, and earn the trust of clients and families.

You’ll be cross-trained across multiple practice areas and gain hands-on experience in both transactional and litigation matters, working closely with a senior attorney who values mentorship. The billable hour requirement is a manageable 1,680 hours per year, reflecting our commitment to work-life balance and a sustainable practice.

This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday.

    Your Responsibilities

Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda

    Prepare pleadings and discovery responses

Participate in depositions, court appearances, and mediations

Draft professional correspondence and communicate effectively and compassionately with clients and opposing counsel

Support estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters from start to finish

    About You

1–5 years of legal experience, ideally with some litigation exposure or a strong interest in litigation

Comfortable managing cases from start to finish and taking ownership of your work

Strong written communication and drafting skills

Detail-oriented, reliable, and open to mentorship

Hardworking and committed to meeting deadlines and client needs

Emotionally intelligent, patient, and skilled at guiding clients through sensitive family matters

Looking for a long-term position and a stable, lasting place on a team

Licensed to practice law in California

    What We Offer

Competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $170,000, based on experience

    Health insurance

Generous bonus potential and referral fees

Paid time off (vacation and sick time)

Strong mentorship from a senior attorney

    Bar association dues coverage

    CLE reimbursement

    Free on-site parking

A stable, long-term position with a firm that values loyalty

A sustainable workload and real work-life balance

    How to Apply

To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter explaining why you’re looking for a long-term role and what draws you to helping clients with estate and probate matters. We’ll contact candidates whose qualifications most closely align with our needs.
