We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Attorney whose primary purpose will be to lead cases and advocate zealously for clients. In this role, you will manage an active caseload in partnership with the firm attorney, and in some cases independently. This role will represent clients in court and at mediations and develop thoughtful legal strategies that position clients for the best possible outcomes. On a daily basis, you can expect to counsel clients through every stage of the legal process, and as needed, attend court appearances, conduct depositions, and negotiate settlements. Strong trial experience is desired. Excellent writing and confident communication are essential, as you will often be the face of the firm in court and client interactions. Further, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. • Maintain knowledge of all local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws. • Identifies, researches, and analyzes legal issues in collaboration with paralegals; reviews legal authority cited by litigants; conducts self-directed research as may be needed to further clarify issues and arrive at sound conclusions. • Oversee and or prepare appropriate documents, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests/responses are calendared and completed timely. • Prepares a variety of reports and correspondence. • Maintains proficiency through continuing education in specific areas of procedural and substantive law. • Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, depositions, and arbitration on behalf of clients. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Education: Completion of a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university. • Experience: A total of one to three years of experience in any combination of the following: probate, estate planning, tax litigation, and civil litigation. Experience in litigation is highly desirable. • LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Current active membership and good standing with the State Bar of California. Compensation: $120,000 - $160,000
