    Associate Director of Corporate Relations


    Job Summary:
    The Associate Director of Corporate Relations will be a part of the Center for Executive Education at the Tobin College of Business, playing a pivotal role in driving growth and success for the Center while creating career opportunities for interns and graduates. Reporting to the Director of the Center, this role focuses on three core areas: business development, corporate engagement, and program management.

    The Associate Director will primarily engage with external stakeholders, building and nurturing relationships with corporate partners to expand executive education programs and increase internship and post-graduation employment opportunities for students. Beyond closely collaborating with corporate partners, the role will interface with internal stakeholders (faculty, career services team, and other university staff) to develop program offerings and increase student employment opportunities.

    Essential Functions:

    Business Development:

    • Develop and implement strategies to attract and secure new business for the Center’s executive education programs, both domestically and internationally.
    • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including current and potential corporate clients, to expand the center’s reach and partnerships.
    • Conduct market research and stay informed of industry trends to identify new opportunities for program offerings.
    • Assist in negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements with clients.
    • Represent St. John’s and the Tobin College of Business at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote programs and hiring initiatives.

    Corporate Engagement:

    • Grow relationships with current and potential corporate partners to develop opportunities for students to secure internships and full-time positions upon graduation.
    • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with hiring managers and HR professionals to understand their talent needs.
    • Coordinate with the university’s career services team to ensure alignment on internships and full-time job opportunities that are being offered to students.

    Program Management:

    • Assist in the design, development, and delivery of executive education programs, ensuring they meet client and participant needs while aligning with the strategic objectives of the Center.
    • Work closely with faculty, subject matter experts, and other university stakeholders to develop content, manage logistics, and ensure high-quality program experiences.
    • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of programs through feedback and assessments, and continuously refine offerings to meet client and market demands.
    • Assist in the management of program budgets, ensuring that resources are used effectively.
    • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and professionalism by providing exceptional client service and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and corporate partners.
    • Knowledge of executive education and higher education industry and trends.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    No direct supervisory responsibilities; however, the role may involve leading cross-functional teams and coordinating program-related activities.


    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This position is full-time and based out of our Manhattan campus. Working hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.


    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
    • At least 5-7 years of experience in business development, executive education program management, or HR/Learning & Development within a corporate or academic environment.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, Learning & Development, or related talent functions, with a track record of driving employee acquisition and development.
    • Experience working with senior executives and corporate clients.

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $83,600 to $95,000. St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

    This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management or Business, appropriate ASQC certification or equivalent experience preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years as a quality assurance manager or equivalent experience.

    • Ability to interpret financial and performance data.
