    Global investment management firm is seeking an Investment Transitions & Operations Associate at their global headquarters in West Los Angeles. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business operations professional within the financial services industry to join a fast-paced environment with strong potential for learning and growth.

    Responsibilities

    Portfolio Onboarding & Data Management

    • Operate and maintain the firm’s portfolio onboarding workflow and ensure accuracy of portfolio reference data across core systems.
    • Create, maintain, and close portfolios within portfolio management, accounting, and analytics platforms; ensure proper data hierarchy and downstream linkages in accordance with control procedures.
    • Coordinate legal entity and portfolio structure changes within key systems based on business input and maintain full documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

    Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Communicate portfolio setups and data changes to internal partners to anticipate and mitigate downstream operational impacts.
    • Collaborate with accounting teams to align general ledger structures, mapping, and account-level configurations during onboarding and month-end processes.
    • Coordinate onboarding activities for clients, third parties, and related entities across various internal teams and external stakeholders.

    Controls, Governance & Audit Readiness

    • Execute and track onboarding events and data change requests, ensuring sign-offs, evidence collection, and compliance with internal control standards.
    • Support a strong control environment through procedure maintenance, audit preparation, issue management, and remediation tracking.

    Process & Technology Enhancements

    • Work closely with product and technology teams to identify and test system and workflow enhancements, including automation, data quality improvements, and operating model efficiencies.
    • Participate in structured user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide feedback to support successful implementation of changes.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in asset management, broker/dealer operations, custodian administration, or similar financial services environment.
    • Prior Middle Office or Operations experience strongly preferred, including transitions, account setup, or portfolio data stewardship.
    • Familiarity with a broad range of investment products (e.g., fixed income, currencies, private assets/alternatives, derivatives).
    • Experience working with systems supporting portfolio management, accounting, and/or custody operations; exposure to leading industry platforms is a plus.
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional projects and collaborate with technology/product partners on system enhancements, UAT, and change management.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent onboarding events under tight timelines.
    • Comfortable working with ambiguity and proactive in clarifying requirements, identifying risks, and proposing solutions.
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; exposure to SQL or Python for data validation and control checks is advantageous.
    • Strong documentation discipline, attention to detail, and audit readiness mindset.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor updates for diverse stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to prioritize, escalate appropriately, and independently manage competing deadlines.
