Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Associate Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team. We are currently not looking for MSW/ASW or out-of-state candidates). Associate clinicians who can be supervised by an LMFT are welcome to apply. If your license requires supervision by an LCSW, we are unable to consider you as a candidate. We are not a nonprofit organization. If you are on your second BBS number and are only permitted to work at a nonprofit, you are unable to apply. This role provides the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. Responsibilities include conducting individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in supervision and team collaboration. This role involves working collaboratively with clients to develop effective treatment plans and utilizing various therapeutic techniques to address emotional and behavioral challenges. This position is part-time for the first 90 days. Clinical hours are limited as caseload is building and insurance approval is obtained for care. 10-20 admin hours a week during onboarding. After the first 90 days, full-time availability is the expectation.
Responsibilities
Conduct individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions, focused on family dynamics, child development, and mental health issues. Experience working with children is a plus
Utilize techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and motivational interviewing to facilitate improving emotional intelligence and supporting recovery.
Perform thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment planning.
Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on client needs
Maintain accurate medical documentation, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment summaries, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Ability to effectively market and promote our business and group initiatives to enhance visibility and engagement.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and community resources to support clients' needs
Requirements
Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
Registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) in the state of CA.
Facilitating Group Therapy Sessions
Must work in the office three days a week
Experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting is preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, including CBT/DBT, Solution-Focused therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, addiction counseling, and other strategies.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying abilities.
