Position Overview Canterbury is seeking candidates with excellent quantitative, qualitative, communication, and interpersonal skills for an Associate position on Canterbury’s Private Capital Research Team. The position’s primary role will be to engage broadly in all areas of Private Capital research. The individual will need to excel in a team environment while also being comfortable working independently at times. The individual is expected to exhibit high ethical standards.

Associate, Private Capital Research at Canterbury Consulting The successful Research Associate has the following characteristics: · At least two years of investment, consulting, corporate finance, or other relevant experience; Private Capital experience within these functions strongly preferred · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to construct clear, effective arguments in support of an investment thesis · Ability to work independently, demonstrate attention to detail, and manage multiple tasks/deadlines effectively · Intellectual curiosity and developing investment judgment · Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, collegial team environment · Strong problem-solving and analytical skills · High proficiency in Microsoft applications; experience with Preqin, Pitchbook, the Morningstar Direct platform, and Bloomberg Terminal a plus
The primary responsibilities of a Research Associate is to: · Participate in conference calls and meetings with prospective and existing private capital and private real estate managers · Support the Vice President on sourcing and managing the inflow of investment opportunities · Contribute to the due diligence of new managers, e.g., reference calls, investment memorandums, and closing process · Maintain quantitative and qualitative manager information within the firm’s internal database · Monitor and update internal reports on manager performance, activity, and holdings · Work closely with the Vice President and other senior Canterbury professionals across all aspects of private capital research
Education: · A degree in finance, economics, or a related field · Enrollment in the CFA, CAIA programs are highly preferred

Physical Requirements · Musculoskeletal Endurance: Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods · Manual dexterity: Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment · Visual Acuity: Must be able to visually inspect documents and computer screens for accuracy · Mobility: Occasionally move objects up to 25 pounds
Work Environment
· Environmental Conditions: The work is performed in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperatures · Hybrid Work Schedule: Employees are expected work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the option to work remote or in the office on Mondays & Fridays · Collaboration: Collaborative and team-oriented culture with regular staff meetings and events · Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients · Travel: Required to travel from time to time
