    Job Description

    E! News is looking for a passionate Associate Producer/Editor. The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable and a digital-first storyteller. This person should have prior experience in entertainment news video production, proven video editing skills, and a clear understanding of the key difference between traditional media and digital-first content.

    The candidate will be responsible for writing scripts, reporting and sourcing information, collecting visual assets, and producing and editing digital video under tight news deadlines. Experience as a multi-platform journalist in entertainment news will best suit this role.

    On-camera talent is not required for this role, but experience behind the camera, working as a reporter/producer on red carpets and the ability to conduct interviews at entertainment-related events is a plus.

    ** Essential Responsibilities:**

    • Create 4-7 digital videos daily under tight, news-driven deadlines from end-to-end: researching, scripting, sourcing assets, tracking VO, editing and publishing
    • Write strong, factual, scripts that may stem from a legal or crime story
    • Write sharp, SEO-friendly headlines and descriptions that drive traffic and views
      • Strong understand of what works on different platforms, from E! Online to YouTube and Facebook
    • Use news judgment to identify trending stories, angles and opportunities to pitch
      • Work closely with producers who assign daily content
    • Create long-form and short-form content as well as mashups with ease to tell a cohesive story
    • Edit with ease in Adobe Premiere. AfterEffects knowledge a plus
    • Optimize sound, lighting and graphics; add transitions, text and export final videos
    • Collaborate with the editorial team to align on content
    • Shoot and produce content in field and virtually when needed (interviews, junkets, premieres and more)
    • Manage multiple projects at once, balancing daily deadlines with upcoming assignments and responsibilities
    • Produce, edit and clip content on special projects and tentpole events, such as red carpets and award shows
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Basic Qualifications:**

    • BA or BS from a four-year accredited college or university or equivalent work experience, preferred
    • 2+ years experience producing news digital-first video content end-to-end (pitching, writing, producing, editing and publishing)
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects).
    • Strong Photoshop skills.

    ** Desired Characteristics:**

    • Collaborative team player with the ability to contribute independently.
    • Creative storyteller who can identify entertainment trends and create innovative ways to tell a compelling story.
    • Proven ability to work and thrive under tight deadlines.
    • Understanding of digital metrics (page views, video views and audience growth).
    • Ability to interview celebrity talent with smart, news-driven questions. Ability to then turn content into digital videos for distribution
    • On-camera presence is not required, but experience field producing and reporting on red carpets at entertainment events is a plus.

    ** Additional Requirements:**

    • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the New York, NY office a minimum of three days per week.

    • Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000
