  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    (80%) Administer the franchise application and contract process for the following franchise events: franchise to franchise store sales, builds, refranchises, and outside investors.

    • Accountable for ensuring compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Disclosure Laws for the Franchise Disclosure Document and Franchise Agreements

    • Initiate DPLLC’s Right of First Refusal and monitor DPLLC’s option period

    • Review applications, determine eligibility, and coordinate compilation of documents/information for evaluation (i.e. financial, proof of funds, other business interests, credit reports, criminal background histories, entity checks and motor vehicle records)

    • Review letters of intent, purchase agreements, leases and legal entity documents

    • Verify territorial right of ‘Area of Primary Responsibility’ for new and existing stores

    • Coordinate delivery and service area maps for execution with contracts

    • Prepare contracts for execution by Franchisee and DPLLC to consummate the legal foundation of the franchise relationship

    • Maintain Franchise Legal System database relative to the franchise application process

    (20%) Act as primary liaison between Franchisees, DPLLC Entities and Outside Vendors

    • Conduct extensive communications with franchisee candidates and franchisees throughout the process to educate them on the process, policies and procedures and to follow-up on outstanding information and documentation

    • Work closely with Region Coordinators, Directors and Consultants on pending franchise acquisition applications.

    • Manage requests from lending institutions and landlords for documentation required for franchisees

    • Educate and communicate DPLLC’s franchising policies and procedures to franchisees, landlords and attorneys to ensure compliance

    • Present application material on a quarterly basis to incoming franchisees

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Experience with legal matters and documents
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent and positive customer service skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft based software applications
    • Ability to analyze and comprehend complex issues
    • Strong organizational skills, and very detail-oriented
    • Ability to multi-task under pressure
    • Ability to work independently while balancing team and individual responsibilities
