Associate Research Technician
Essential Duties
- Collect and process samples and data for analysis, ensuring accuracy in recording observations and findings.
- Perform laboratory tests and experiments according to established standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Laboratory testing to include but not limited to: refractometer, rheometer, auto-titrator, pH-meter, water activity meter, particle size analysis, spectrophotometer and colorimeter, etc.
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring their accuracy and reliability for testing.
- Record and document laboratory results, maintaining accurate logs and reports to support laboratory projects and research.
- Assist in assay development for quality metrics and/or troubleshooting workflows.
- Conduct quality control checks and assurance procedures on production samples to ensure the reliability of test results and analytical instrumentation.
- Sensory, analytical testing and statistical analysis for finished product analysis with clear reporting on deviations.
- Data collection and statistical analysis of R&D product samples and trial runs
- Prepare flavor blends and compound Voyage Flavors for manufacturing and corporate R&D needs
- Monitor, track and maintain inventory of lab materials and consumables
- Assist in sensory panels of food and beverage products
- Work collaboratively with other departments including quality assurance, manufacturing, and engineering.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or appropriate equivalent experience
• Preferred 1-2 years' experience in an analytical laboratory performing wet chemistry methods
• Must demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload without direct supervision.
