Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a similar field) with 4-6 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Demonstrated experience with aseptic tissue culture techniques, media preparation, and simultaneous handling of 3-5 different cell conditions / cell types, including primary neuronal cells and iPSC-derived neuronal cells.
- Working knowledge of key biochemical techniques, cellular assays, and cell biology.
- Hands-on experience with cell-based and plate-based methods, including ELISA, reporter assays, and immunofluorescence.
- Demonstrated understanding of biology lab safety requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis, problem-solving, and record-keeping skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow SOPs, and comply with company policies.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background and interest in neurodegenerative disease research, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and ALS.
- Hands on experience with neuronal differentiation.
- Hands on experience with high content imaging (HCI) assays, image analysis and software, including Harmony, Columbus, and ImageJ.
- Hands on experience with plate-based instrumentation (i.e. Revvity Opera Phenix and Tecan) and automation troubleshooting.
- Experience with transient transfection methods (i.e. electroporation, Lipofectamine, and FuGENE).
- Experience with electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) documentation.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
