Associate Scientist – iPSC Cell Culture
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented laboratory professional to provide weekend support for the Research and Development (R&D) team by performing induced pluripotency stem cell (iPSC) culture operations. This role focuses on maintaining healthy, confluent iPSC cultures through routine feeding, monitoring, and support of the differentiation process. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture (iPSC cell culture preferred), accurate laboratory documentation, and will be comfortable working independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
This position is a Wednesday - Sunday shift with initial training occurring Monday - Friday for approximately 4 - 6 weeks before transitioning to the Wednesday - Sunday requirement.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or a related field) with 3-4 years of relevant laboratory experience. M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
Extensive experience with proper aseptic technique and working within a biosafety cabinet (BSC).
Advanced proficiency in independently maintaining and expanding mammalian cell lines without the use of antibiotics.
Strong experience with single use bioreactor, flask, and plate-based cell culturing methods.
Strong organizational, time management, and troubleshooting abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
