    The Associate Students Minister will serve to accomplish the vision of Citizens Church within the context and culture of discipling middle and high school students to become more like Jesus. This position requires a highly collaborative individual that can provide a mix of leadership and ministry execution. The Associate Students Minister will support the Lead Students Minister and collaborate with the Students team by teaching, writing curriculum, caring for Students souls, and developing volunteers to do the same. As the church and ministry grows, a future focus on multi-site ministry may develop and require further strategy and partnership.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

    A flourishing personal relationship with Jesus as exhibited by the fruit of the Spirit

    Flexibility of schedule, including nights and weekends, as needed by the ministry

    Must demonstrate annually a clear background check

    Perform other duties as required

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership & Collaboration

    Translate vision into actionable plans for volunteers and students team

    Collaborate with the Lead Students Minister to evaluate ministry health, volunteer culture, and student engagement

    Participate in regular team meetings, planning sessions, and cross-departmental collaboration

    Lead in weekly student gatherings (Unite) and help oversee large-scale events (Focus Weekend, Wake Up Weekend, Summer Camp)

    Collaborate with the Lead Students Minister to shape and implement a multi-site strategy

    Participate in reflection and long-range planning for the ministry

    Partner with the Kids Ministry to ensure a seamless discipleship pipeline

    Tactical Execution

    Plan, execute, and support all aspects of the weekly gatherings (Unite)

    Teach to groups of 50-250 at Students and Kids events

    Participate in evangelistic efforts in schools, clubs, and teams (FCA, YL, Cru)

    Serve in Kids Ministry as needed, including KidCity and CitiCamp

    Support yearly 5th grade blessing and other transitional events

    Communicate clearly and consistently with families, volunteers, and staff

    Manage expenses to align with budget as set by the Lead Students Minister

    Contribute to curriculum development for large gatherings and small groups

    Plan, execute, and support missional living opportunities and activities

    Ministry Culture & Formation

    Model what it looks like to be a disciple of Jesus

    Cultivate a culture of discipleship, hospitality, and spiritual formation among students and leaders

    Ensure that all student environments reflect the values of Citizens Church: theological depth, relational warmth, and missional clarity

    Champion a culture of belonging and accessibility

    Encourage an environment where every student is known, valued, and discipled

    Partner with the Lead Students Minister to support ABLE Students and their families

    People Development

    Build rapport and relationships within the students and their parents

    Provide care for students, parents, and volunteers

    Recruit, equip, and empower volunteers

    Staff Requirements

    Spend regular time in study and prayer

    Pray for members and attenders of Citizens Church

    Attend all-staff meetings (weekly staff meeting, Restore, etc.)

    Participation in Staff Development Activities and anchor events (Restore, Staff Retreat, Good Friday, Easter, Christmas, etc.)

    Attend one-on-one meetings with direct supervisor biweekly

    SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s degree

    Seminary and/or formal ministry training preferred

    Minimum two years of church ministry experience

    Strong communication and organizational skills

    Emotionally intelligent, humble and self-aware

    Self-starter, learner, flexible, and adaptable

    Able to lead with empathy and navigate conflict with grace

    Demonstrates pastoral sensitivity, creativity, and adaptability in ministering to students with varying needs

    Able to lead, organize, and mentor volunteers
