ASSURED HEALTHCARE STAFFING has a great opportunity for a Referral Specialist. This role is located near Waukegan, IL. Day Shift.

REFERRAL SPECIALIST OVERVIEW:

The ideal candidates will have previous experience in a medical office and an understanding of medical insurance and prior authorizations. The ideal candidates will be competent in utilizing various computer applications as well as navigating electronic medical records (EMR’s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

PCMH REFERRAL AND PRIOR AUTHORIZATION COORDINATION

• Coordinates all referral requests and follows up on necessary documentation.
• Assists in ensuring that referrals are addressed in a timely manner.
• Determines patient’s eligibility for the uninsured specialty referral payment program.
• Schedules patients for appointments, follow-up appointments, tracks results and recommendations.
• Develops and maintains a basic knowledge of services available.
• Demonstrates effective oral, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

• High School diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical office with thorough understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care Organizations and PPO’s required
• Data entry and basic computer skills required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
