    Astra Tennis Academy is looking for a Head Coach to head up their Shanghai Location. This position has a competitive salary with quality benefits working for an international management team.     PROGRAMS

    PE Tennis; • design and coordinate PE tennis; • supervise and lead tennis coaches and PE teachers; • write evaluation reports at the end of each semester, if required.

    • After School Activities; • construct and deliver ASA programs; • supervise and guide coaching personnel;

    • Junior and Adult Group Coaching; • construct and deliver quality group programs;

    • School Team Coaching;

    • Individual Tuition;

      • perform high quality private lessons;

    • Holiday Clinics;

      • plan and execute holiday camps in HD School; • assist in planning of holiday camps in HD School; • deliver tennis camps in HD School;

    • Intra-school competitions; • plan and execute round-robin competitions;

    • Tournaments • organise minimum 6 tournaments per semester against other schools, clubs, or find private

      competitions.

    • Open day events;

      • organise and run regular events for students, parents, staff and public;

      • assist and deliver events in other schools

    • Tours to tennis academies abroad and major tournaments.

      • assist HD tennis in planning of such tours.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

      • 20 on-court coaching hours per week(lessons that are less than 1 hour, are equivalent to 1 hour class), Monday-Saturday;

      • 10 off-court office hours per week

      • Planning and delivering school programs according to schools’ tennis PE curriculum;

      • Planning and delivering, well-structured and engaging after school tennis programs;

      • Planning and delivering all programs in accordance with Health and Safety procedures;

      • Ensuring compliance with Astra Tennis’ policies and procedures;

      • Working cooperatively with school’s PE Department to promote overall sports participation and assist in student development;

      • Assisting in coordination of the marketing relations of Astra Tennis;

      • Monitoring service provision standards to increase participation and client satisfaction;

      • Liaising with the school regarding promotion of Astra Tennis;

      • Training and monitoring coaching personnel;

      • Liaising with parents, visitors, coaching and school staff, including welcoming and guiding visitors through facilities;

      • Performing a general range of office and administrative functions, including reception, electronic record keeping and provision of information regarding the services of Astra Tennis;

      • Selling and assisting with pro-shop equipment;

      • Travelling with students to local tournaments and/or abroad as required;

      •  Attending regular meetings with the General Manager and PE Department; and • Performing duties assigned by Sports Coordinator and/or General Manager.

     

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

    Reporting directly to: • General Manager of Tennis Academy; • Sports Coordinator of HD School; • Principal of HD School.

    FACILITY

    Head Tennis Coach is in charge of tennis courts. Head Tennis Coach is responsible for making sure there is sufficient equipment available.

    TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF APPLICANT

    The ideal applicant shall have proven successful experience in:

    • delivering programs in schools; • working with players of different ages and levels; • experience in Head Coach position.

    The ideal applicant shall: • demonstrate a high level of U10 junior tennis knowledge; • have previous playing experience; • have basic computer skills; • display a positive work attitude; • present themselves in a professional and friendly manner; and • have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    EDUCATION: University Degree

    QUALIFICATIONS: • Internationally recognized coaching qualifications 

    LANGUAGE: • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills • Chinese is highly preferred
