Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Job Description:
At Astral Insights we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer specialized in Azure technology to join our dynamic team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure-based solutions to meet our organization's needs. You will collaborate closely with other members of the IT team and various stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment and operation of cloud-based services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Azure Solution Design: Designing scalable, secure, and efficient Azure-based solutions to meet business requirements and technical specifications.
• Implementation and Deployment: Deploying Azure resources including virtual machines, databases, storage accounts, and networking components using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Azure CLI, or Azure PowerShell. Hands on experience on building and deploying data solutions in Azure Cloud
• Automation: Developing automation scripts and workflows to streamline deployment processes, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure consistency in infrastructure configuration using tools such as Azure Automation, Azure DevOps, or third-party automation frameworks.
• Collaboration, Monitoring and Optimization: Cloud engineers will collaborate with software and data engineers to ensure successful development, deployment, operation and scaling of modern applications in the cloud.
• Implementing and monitoring solutions to track the performance, availability, and cost of Azure resources, and optimizing resource utilization to achieve cost-effectiveness.
• Security and Compliance: Implementing security best practices and compliance standards in Azure environments, including identity and access management, network security, data encryption, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshooting issues related to Azure infrastructure and services, providing timely resolution, and collaborating with support teams and vendors as needed.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Creating and maintaining documentation for Azure environments, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and sharing knowledge with team members through training sessions and workshops.
• Continuous Learning: Staying up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and Azure services, and acquiring relevant certifications to enhance expertise and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing Azure-based solutions in a production environment.

• In-depth knowledge of Azure services including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, Azure DevOps, and Azure Security Center.

• Strong proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as C# and/or Javascript PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and frameworks such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible.

• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers, and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are highly desirable.
