Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP, Corporate Controller will be responsible for globally managing Astreya’s general ledgers and related financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP as well as ensure compliance with local statutory reporting. The position will ensure adequate systems of Internal Controls exist globally and ensure trained teams are staffed to produce financial statements both accurately and timely within the company’s existing ERP systems and related financial reporting systems and databases.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for managing and directing the international accounting functions, including balance sheet reviews, month end close processes as well as cash flow management and forecasting.
• Establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
• Ensuring that effective internal controls are in place and in compliance with GAAP and applicable international and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Be a key contact to ensure that required compliance actions and steps are enacted into practice as would specifically relate to the global finance and accounting teams.
• Work directly with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate closing and preparation of financial information in accordance with US GAAP and that all local statutory reporting requirements are met, timely and accurately. These local requirements might include local sales and use tax activity, VAT activity and filing of locally audited country financial statements as appropriate.
• Drive organization improvements to develop the best team possible and work with staff to ensure that adequate development plans are in place so that we create and grow a bench of high accounting talent.
• Ensure that all unique transactions have full transparency for revenue recognition and/or proper accounting/recording.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Provide inputs and insights to drive growth, streamline operations
• Oversight of tax compliance in each tax jurisdiction ensuring transfer pricing policies and agreements are in place and compliant.
Qualifications
Requires BA or advanced degree in Accounting, CPA certification and skilled in US GAAP
10-15 years’ experience in medium to large scale global organization ideally in IT Services industry
Strong team leader and developer of talent, ideally at a global/multinational company with geographically dispersed teams
Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Working knowledge of US and International tax and payroll concepts
Possess excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and understand the implications their actions and those of the Finance team will have on the strategic and organizational demands of a rapidly growing company.
