    Job Description

    The Network Operations Engineer I is a network and server support engineer for CDN cluster environments to support our GLOBAL SOCIAL TECHNOLOGY CLIENT. . This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    SCOPE: 

    • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
    • Works on problems of limited scope
    • Receives detailed instructions

    YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide support for global production content delivery network deployments
    • Understanding of production and corporate network and internet peering strategies
    • Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
    • Day-to-day activities involve working on multiple vendor servers and various software and hardware issues
    • Assist with traffic and any other queries raised by ISP/partners
    • Support team in handling switches for any incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMA etc. 
    • Work with ISP/vendors on fixing any issues related to network 
    • Participate in 24/7 support with other teams across the globe. Some weekend work may be required.

    LOCATION:  100% On-site. Applicant must be in a commutable distance to Fremont, CA. 

    SCHEDULE: Monday to Fri, 9 am to 5 pm - 40 hours/week. TEAM ROTATION: 1 TO 2 WEEKENDS/MONTH AND AN OCCASIONAL HOLIDAY. 

    COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: In order to protect the health and safety of all onsite employees, proof of full vaccination including booster is required.

    RESUME MUST REFLECT THE REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university
      • or equivalent combination of education and experience

       

    • 0 to 2 of experience in Network Engineering.
    • STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF OSI NETWORKING LAYER 3 INCLUDING LAYER 1 & LAYER 2.
    • EXPERIENCE CONFIGURING AND TROUBLESHOOTING IP ROUTING/SWITCHING TECHNOLOGIES AND PROTOCOLS INCLUDING TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, AND VRRP IN A DUAL-STACK IPV4/6 ENVIRONMENT.
    • EXPERIENCE WITH CISCO, JUNIPER, ARISTA AND/OR OTHER MANUFACTURERS OF NETWORK AND SECURITY EQUIPMENT CONFIGURATION, DEBUGGING, AND TROUBLESHOOTING.
    • UNDERSTANDING OF FIBER- OPTIC TECHNOLOGY INCLUDING CABLE TYPES, CONNECTOR TYPES, OPTIC TYPES, PATCH PANELS, AND OPTICAL TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGIES.
    • Experience opening RMA case problem with a Chassis.
    • Experience supporting the network that goes to the Peer.
    • Ability to know the difference between the carrier and peer.
    • Ability to open tickets with ISP's/carriers by phone or email.
    • Understanding of preparing root cause analysis for any network and server outages Programming and scripting capabilities. 
    • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs around the world.
    • Builds stable working relationships internally.
    • Follows standard practice and procedures when analyzing situations or data.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment. 
    • Network certifications, including server level certifications
