The company is also developing advanced space robotics capabilities such as terrain relative navigation, mobile robotics for lunar surface operations, and reliable computing systems for mission-critical applications. Originally spun out of Carnegie Mellon University in 2007, Astrobotic is pioneering affordable planetary access that promises to spark a new era of exploration, science, tourism, resource utilization, and mining. Astrobotic’s headquarters is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a second location in Mojave, California.

    Astrobotic is enabling sustainable access and utilization of the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Through its recent acquisition of Masten Space Systems, we’ve been building and flying reusable rockets for nearly two decades with the most successful rocket-powered landings in the industry. We work directly with NASA, defense, and commercial customers to develop the tech it takes to break down the barriers to space. Together, we’ll make wild napkin ideas possible by taking them from the lab to the test site, all the way to the lunar surface and beyond.

    This Position will play a key role in many of the team's integration activates across all vehicles and test platforms. Applicants should have experience with electronic harnessing, component design, test and troubleshooting, and a desire to apply these skills to propulsion systems.

    ** Job Responsibilities:**

    • The assembly, fabrication, test, and integration of wiring harness assemblies for EGSE and developmental vehicles
    • The assembly and test of wiring harness assemblies dedicated for spacecraft integration
    • Design and assemble various EGSE wiring harnesses to support electrical and environmental spacecraft level testing campaigns
    • Assembly and integration of custom avionics enclosures
    • Test, manufacture, install, and repair electrical and electronics equipment
    • Electronics lab managerial tasks, such as equipment calibration tracking, wiring harness consumable inventory management, and general lab ESD safety

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2-3 years of wiring harness assembly/integration or general electrical and electronics testing experience
    • Knowledge of and experience with DWV, Hi-Pot, and IR testing
    • Soldering proficiency per NASA-STD-8739 or similar
    • Knowledge of MIL-STD-451 or equivalent
    • Knowledge of electronics lab standard practices
    • Able to apply industry standard cable and wire harness design practices in development harnesses

    Desired Skills & Qualifications:

    • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks, Solidworks Electrical, and / or Siemens Capital to assist in reviews with Design Engineers
    • Proficiency with test equipment such as Digital Multi-Meters, Electronic Power Supplies, Electronic Loads, and Oscilloscopes
    • Experience with embedded systems
    • FAA Aviation Mechanic certificate. Airframe (A) and/or Powerplant (P)
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620, Class 3 Certification
    • Knowledge of NASA-STD-8739.4A and AS50881
    • Knowledge of MIL-STD-461, EMI test and mitigation
    • Basic understanding of propulsion test, include safe handling of cryogenic propellants

    Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000

    The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience. Base salary is just one component of Astrobotic’s competitive total rewards strategy.
