    ­­What You Will Do:

    We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a team that designs complex systems for avionics communication products. This dynamic role includes all aspects of Systems Design (“V-model”), customer relations, and proposal creation. The scope of our avionics systems engineering position may consist of flight avionics design, data acquisition and conversion, navigation, communication bus protocols, flight software verification, fault tolerance and reporting, ground tooling, aircraft integration, and more. Open communication between hardware, software, reliability, and program management disciplines is integral to the success of this position.

    This on-site position with hybrid flexibility is located at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to one of our Chief Systems Engineers.

    How You Will Do It:

    • You will collaborate with a team of engineers to perform the previously defined design, verification, and integration activities, and you will be able to work across the enterprise to solve complex problems.
    • You will lead detailed discussions concerning system requirements, architecture, and test strategy decisions.
    • Using expertise in these areas, you will establish systems design concepts, practices, and procedures at the team or department level.
    • You will design integration environments for systems products that represent fielded avionics environments.
    • You will provide oversight and guidance to less senior members of the design teams to facilitate an understanding of system use cases and in-service constraints.
    • Using your knowledge of industry-related guidelines, you will help guide team members' activities based on industry constraints.
    • You will implement methods to plan and track progress.

    What We Look For:

    • You must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    • A Bachelor's degree in one of the following programs: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or another relevant related field from an accredited institution for this position
    • 5 years of systems engineering experience
    • Experience with modern complex design methodologies; examples include requirements development, analysis, test design, system architecture, etc.
    • Experience designing computers or computer networks
    • Experience with requirements management change tracking tools such as DOORS
    • Experience with software development in Python/C, and networking protocols.
    • Experience with the safety assessment process related to ARP4671, including generation of system architecture, functional block diagrams, systems safety and security assessment, etc.
    • An understanding of reliability processes and documentation such as FMEA, FMECA, reliability assessments, etc.
    • An understanding of regulatory design guidelines, including ARP4754A, DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160.
    • Experience with avionics communication protocols, including MIL-STD_1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, and Ethernet.
    • Familiarity with military and FAA regulations and certification requirements for complex avionics equipment, as well as working knowledge of ARP 4754A.
    • Experience with Human Factors design, validation, and verification.
    • Experience with 802.11x, 3GPP, 4G, LTEa, 5G sub-6 wireless technologies and certification.
    • The ability to travel as needed for this position

    Desired:

    • A Master’s degree in one of the following programs: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or another relevant related field from an accredited institution for this position
