Carollo Engineers is a nationally recognized engineering firm specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Water Resources Planner to join our team in Seattle, WA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the strategy, development and oversight of planning projects for water resource projects involving water supply, wastewater, stormwater, groundwater, and recycled water
- Technical guidance and mentoring of junior engineering staff on master planning and hydraulic modeling projects
- Prepare reports
- Experience developing conceptual site plans and cost estimates
- System modeling
- Permitting and alternative analysis
- Preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
- Data entry and analysis
Required Skills
- Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques
- Knowledge of system hydraulics, hydraulic modeling software for pressurized and/or gravity pipeline networks, knowledge and experience working with GIS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Work well in a team environment
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
- Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 8 to 12 years of directly-relevant experience in water/sewer/stormwater system modeling, master planning and project management
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Registration as a Professional Engineer
