    POSITION DESCRIPTION                 UNITED CENTER & GUARANTEED RATE FIELD

    Department: Security/Guest Relations          

    Position Title: Safety Coordinator

    Reports To: Senior Director of Event Security/Guest Relations Manager

    Supervises: N/A

    Pay/Benefits: $19/hr  

     

    General Responsibilities:

    To ensure and maintain the safety of the United Center / Guaranteed Rate Field guests, staff and physical plant.

     

     

    Specific Duties: 

    •           Pre-game inspections of the building.

    •           Assemble reports from Event Security, First Aid, Standard Parking and any event related documentation.

    •           Prevent safety hazards.

    •           Document thoroughly any incident requiring first aid.

    •           Miscellaneous duties assigned.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Communicating Standard Operating Procedures to all Team Members and work as a liaison for the medical staff and security, with the United Center Management Staff.

    Scheduling.

    ·  Language Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.  

    ·  Math Skills:

    Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

     

    ·  Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    Education:

    One year certificate from college or technical school: or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    The individual may be required to walk up and down several stairs throughout the duration of the event while inspecting the building.

    The individual may be required to assist security or first aid in lifting injured personnel or guests.

    The individual may be required to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places or work in outdoor weather conditions for up to 1/3 of the workday.

    The environment has a very loud noise level.

    The individual may also be required to be exposed to blood at times, in emergency situations when they are the first respondent .

    The position requires ability to stand for 3 quarters (¾) of shift. The use of hands, stooping, kneeling or reaching with hands may be required during shift. There may be lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements: color and the ability to focus. Team member are expected to fully perform the essential functions of the job.

    Note:

    Team Member must be 18 years of age or older

    Must have availability to work evening, weekends and holidays

    Average hours will not exceed 20 hours per week

    Team Member must recognize and participate in the utilization of the various Recognition Programs.

    Team Member must assist in the planning and monitoring of departmental strategic goals.
