    SUMMARY

    Assemble and test space systems electronic components, subassemblies, products, and mechanical devices and equipment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    Other duties may be assigned

    • Preform precision, spaceflight critical, assembly and test on spaceflight components.
    • Assist engineering in developing assembly and test procedures, processes and specifications.
    • Development of spaceflight assembly and test processes, procedures and systems. 
    • Read work orders, follow production drawing and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. 
    • Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
    • Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.
    • Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
    • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
    • Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
    • Perform assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
    • Attend to machines that press, mark, drill, or wind component parts.
    • Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
    • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products.
    • Travel to Atec Inc. subsidiaries and or project sites may be required

    Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor. 

     Supervisory Responsibilities

    • May be responsible for the direction and training of subordinate personnel.
    • Monitor personnel to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec AS9100/ISO policies, and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

     

    AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

    Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives. 

    Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.

    Complete all work routers and understand the quality requirements for each task.

    Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.

    Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.

    Cooperate with Auditors.

    Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

    Education and/or Experience

    • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three years' experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
    • Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
    • Good eyesight; by lenses if necessary.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

    Extended work hours may occasionally be required.
