  • Responsibilities

    Atec is located in Stafford, Texas. They are looking for a Receiving Inspector to add to the team. 

    SUMMARY Receive goods using receiving procedures. Inspect all good received.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    Coordinate activities with the Quality Department.

    Identify defects on received goods.

    Examine receiving instructions for exactness and conformance to policies and procedures.

    Verifies and keeps records on received goods and inspection processes.

    Determines method and mode of shipment to customer requirements.

    Approves and rejects items.

    Testing material composition.

    Checking if products are conforming to standards and reporting to manager/supervisor.

    Assist shipping personnel as needed.

    Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

    Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.

    Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.

    Complete all work routers and understand the quality requirements for each task.

    Complete all quality records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.

    Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.

    Participate in Atec AS9100/ISO training as required.

    Cooperate with Auditors.

    Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and minimum of 5 years work experience in a machine shop/electronics manufacturing/assembly environment as a Receiving Inspector or related position.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instruction.  Ability to present information and respond to questions from management.

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

    Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written.

    Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift operation.

    Ability to lift 50 pounds easily and operate forklift when required.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. 

    Employee is standing and walking several hours a day on concrete floors.

    Noise level in the environment is usually moderate to loud. 

    Extended work hours may occasionally be required.
