SUMMARY

Inspect products at various stages of production process and comply and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Position is for 2nd shift- on or around 3pm-11pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

• Interpret oral and written instructions, specifications, engineering drawings or inspection instructions to determine quality and reliability standards. 
• Professionally and effectively communicate with customers on quality issues as they arise.
• Ensure the buy in of existing employees by demonstrating knowledge and use of mechanical measurement tools at a detail level.
• Use documentation that includes both older traditional drawing call outs and geometric tolerances. Use AS9102 inspection forms and the support used with the document is a requirement. 
• Show mechanical measurement knowledge at a detail level.
• Make decisions regarding which measurement tool is most appropriate for the type of inspection required on complex parts.
• Evaluate inspection tasks as scheduled and provide feedback to Production Control on status to accomplish the scheduled operations.

Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
• Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Complete all work routers and understand the quality requirements for each task.
• Complete all quality records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
• Participate in Atec AS9100/ISO training as required.
• Cooperate with Auditors.
• Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); at least 6 years work experience in a machine shop/electronics manufacturing/assembly environment; or combination of education and experience.  Knowledge of CMM with PCDIMIS capabilities and general operation.
• Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to work with inspection equipment; reach overhead with hands and arms; and stoop, bend; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. 
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, and color vision; good eyesight, by lenses if necessary
• Vision testing is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. 
• Employee is standing and walking several hours a day on concrete floors.
• Noise level in the environment is usually moderate to loud. 
• Extended work hours may occasionally be required.
