    JOB SUMMARY

    We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist that can program. This person would write programs that follow sequences on routers using Edge Cam software for CNC Lathe with live tooling and 4 & 5 axis mills.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Other duties may be assigned

     

    ·        Able to follow detailed work instructions (verbal and written) to set up and operate CNC machines.

    ·        Review drawings to determine what tooling and fixtures are needed to complete the job.

    ·        Create a set up sheet for every operation with a tool list and detailed instructions of how to set the machine up.

    ·        Create manufacturing aide drawings for any parts that require special instructions.

    ·        Determine machine reference points and tooling offsets.

    ·        Design and create drawings for any special tooling when needed to manufacture product.

    ·        Able to design, program, assist in building and validating fixtures for manufacturing.

    ·        Work with peers and Manager to solve any programming, cutting or tooling problems at machine during set up and run.

    ·        Set up and run CNC machine for first article to prove out program and set up inspections.

    ·        Make sure any changes made are saved in master program file.

    ·        Able to read GD&T geometric dimensions and tolerances.

    ·        Proficient in the use of various measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, dial bore gages, micro height and others.

    ·        Proficient in deburring, tapping, and polishing to all required dimensions and surface finishes.

     

    EDUCATION:

     

    1-2 years of technical or vocational school; 5 years CNC programming experience; or combination of education and experience.

     

    *Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

    *Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

    *Must have advanced knowledge of fundamental of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to handle equipment; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel; must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; and occasionally to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. 

    Noise volume varies depending on where employee is performing the job.

     Extended work hours may occasionally be required.
