Property Maintenance Technician, West Des Moines, IA

The Property Maintenance Technician will help our growing company achieve success by keeping the buildings and grounds in good condition at our properties and by providing excellent customer service to our residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; providing information and/or advising others; and operating within a defined budget. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel. The Maintenance Technician must be mechanically inclined with a substantial background in building maintenance. Maintenance and repair abilities include:
Common area maintenance (change light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles and daytime emergency janitorial duties)
Minor dry wall repair and taping
Painting
Security of leased spaces, including working with locksmiths and re-keying units, as needed.
Carpentry skills and ability to review and interpret construction/site plans is helpful.
Minor plumbing and electrical repairs that do not require a license.
HVAC diagnostics and repairs
Concreate curb and parking lot maintenance
Will require lifting, pushing, pulling 75 lbs. or more on occasion
Bi-lingual is a PLUS!
Yard and landscaping upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trach and snow removal.
Experience:
2 years or more of job related experience is required.
Hours:
8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday with occasional on-call and weekend hours.
Clearances:
Background check, must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
