  • Responsibilities

    The Front Office Receptionist is dependable, efficient, and highly organized. This Individual must be personable, friendly, driven to learn and who enjoys working with others.

    The Receptionist is responsible for answering incoming calls effectively; forwarding phone calls to the appropriate staff member or voice mail boxes and take messages from callers. Greet customers who enter the facility with the utmost professionalism and be able to answer basic questions.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties of the Front Office Receptionist will include:

    • Answering incoming calls,
    • Directing calls to appropriate staff,
    • Greeting and checking in all customers for Funeral arrangements
    • Including entering all demographic information into the electronic health record,
    • Entering referrals for office visits into EMR, scanning for staff as needed
    • Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent labs delivered by patient, etc.
    • Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).
    • Schedules any necessary appointments after completion of patient visit.
    • Monitor and review patient schedules for next day office appointments.
    • Identifying and resolving minor patient billing complaints.
    • Assists in ordering, receiving and stocking of office supplies.
    • Maintains cleanliness of waiting room.
    • Assists other Medical Receptionists and Medical Secretaries as needed.
    • Verifying insurance and making sure to collect any copays, deductibles or other charges pertaining to the patients visit and ensuring the payment is properly posted on the patients’ account.
    • Ensuring all superbills are properly filled out and all accounted for and sent to the billing department at the end of the day.
    • Keeping the front desk/reception area clean and stocked at all times.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     Required Skills and Experience:

    • High school or equivalent (Required)
    • Associates Degree (Preferred/ Not required)
    • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Answering Phones
    • Computer Skills: 2 Years (Preferred)
    • US work authorization (Required)
    • Data Entry (Preferred)
    • Valid State Driver’s License (Required)
    • Bilingual (Required)
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Administrative: 2 years (Preferred)
    • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Answering Phones
    • Must have working knowledge of using and programming multi-line telephone equipment and reservation systems.
    • Must be able to efficiently handle multiple tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and providing excellent customer service.
    • Have experience and be highly proficient using Apple computer products, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
