Job Duties:
- Responsible in deciding whether to approve or deny client’s mortgage loans according to relevant information being provided at their loan applications or upon final review of a complete file.
- Analysis of income, asset, credit, title and collateral information.
- Conduct risk assessments on potential clients based on previous borrowing history, credit rating, income and other factors.
- Clearly convey underwriting needs to client in order to effectively and properly complete underwriting analysis.
- Render independent decision based of the Company’s guidelines and policies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience of mortgage underwriting.
- Full understanding of income analysis, title analysis, appraisal analysis, credit analysis RESPA, TILA, TRID, hazard insurance, and be proficient in both refinance and purchase transactions.
- Regulation / Legislation Awareness - Knowledge of the Regulated Financial Services environment.
Skills:
- Able to demonstrate a proactive, hardworking, flexible and able to work under own initiative but also a team player.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products.
- Strong customer service and time management skills a must.
- Highly motivated and determined to succeed in a competitive, time-sensitive industry.
Required education:
- High school diploma/GED required (College degree preferred.)
Desired experience:
- Experience with Lending QB loan origination system
- Hard Money and Nonprime mortgage experience desired.
- Manual mortgage underwriting experience.

• Review credit, income, assets, and collateral documentation per our guide
and determine whether or not the investor conditions/concerns are valid
• Coordinate rebuttals to investor findings, condition clearing, and Vendor follow up
• Reach out to third parties for required documentation to clear investor conditions
• Calculate income using traditional and non-traditional documentation to determine DTI ratios,
residual income figure, and DSCR when applicable
• Analyze and compile information gathered through due diligence and summarize results, both
positive and negative
