New Position: Planning Manager

Summary:

The Planning Manager is responsible for managing the Planning Department composed of Planners. Planning Manager develops, leads and executes planning strategies. The Planning Manager is responsible for managing inventory levels of componentry, finish goods, marketing material, maintaining build of materials, stockkeeping cards, MRP data. Must have experience and be able to lead Material Resource Planning implementation and data system integrity through Microsoft Dynamics (Navision). Must be able to understand and analyze data tables, create queries, analyze data, forecast and create reports. The Planning Manager will work with the Purchasing Manager strategizing purchase of inventory, promotional items, he/she will create timelines, and ensure that all inventory remains within the standard cost. Maintains optimal efficient inventory, manages production schedules and operates within department budget. Planning Manager has knowledge and experience in Microsoft Dynamics (Navision), has knowledge and can implement MRP system, he/she is driven by SOPs and is able to create SOPs. Planning Manager must be and advanced user of the following programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Power BI, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics (Navision), SQL. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Primary Responsibilities

· Supervises the following Departments: Planning

· Works with Global Director of Planning and Analysis and Global Marketing Project Manager ensuring all product forecasts, product launches/promotions are met.

· MRP System implementation

· MRP data management (BOM’s, Stockkeeping Cards, Variants, Versions, MRP parameters)

· Forecasting of Finish Goods, components, marketing material

· Develop, lead and execute planning strategies

· Develop and implement standard operating procedures for department

· Create reports through Power BI/Access linking to data tables in SQL

· Works with Purchasing Manager creating timelines, strategizing inventory buys and production schedules

· Assist with product development ensuring forecasting is followed and material buys are in line with product launches

· Works with external vendors maintaining production/filling/manufacturing schedules

· Evaluates inventory parameters and sets new parameters as needed.

Qualifications:

· BA/BS required with 4+ years of experience in Planning

· Microsoft Dynamics (Nav) experience (advanced user) required

· Good verbal/written communication skills

· Experienced with Inventory Systems and must be able to lead MRP Implementation

· Lean Practices/ Six Sigma experience preferred

· Data base management skills

· Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SQL, Access, Power BI

· Proven working experience as Planning Manager

· Strong negotiation and networking skills

· Strong leadership capabilities

· Able to lead/evaluate team

· High level of accuracy required
