ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Teacher will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plans and conducts classes/activities adapted to needs of students in collaboration with other teachers and TA's
- Assesses and prepares IEP's. Implements and evaluates short and long-term goals and objectives.
- Participates in activities pertaining to student transitioning to kindergarten, attends turning five meetings.
- Participates in activities outside classroom where necessary i.e., trips, pool (only BK SITE), gym, and community walks.
- Serves and participates as a member at interdisciplinary team meetings, Annual Reviews, parent meetings, Special Review Committee meetings, In-Services, etc. as required.
- Orients, trains, delegates, supervises work of TA's
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Minimal Qualifications and Requirements
- Master's Degree in Special Education
- New York State Certification in Special Education Early Childhood (Birth-2nd grade)
- New York State Certification in Early Childhood Education or N-6 (for Day Care and UPK Teachers)
- Meet all additional NY State Certification requirements
- Must be available 8am-3pm Monday-Friday, year round
- COVID-19 vaccine required
