THE ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK IS WORKING TO END HUNGER IN OUR COMMUNITY WITH THE FOOD, PEOPLE AND BIG IDEAS NEEDED SO THAT NO ONE WORRIES WHERE THEIR NEXT MEAL IS COMING FROM. SINCE 1979, WE’VE BEEN PROVIDING FOOD FOR A GROWING NETWORK OF NONPROFIT PARTNERS – INCLUDING FOOD PANTRIES, COMMUNITY KITCHENS, CHILD CARE CENTERS, NIGHT SHELTERS AND SENIOR CENTERS. WE CURRENTLY SERVE MORE THAN 600 PARTNERS IN 29 COUNTIES ACROSS METRO ATLANTA AND NORTH GEORGIA.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE RETAIL SOURCING SUPERVISOR IS TO OVERSEE THE DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE RETAIL TEAM IN GROWING, BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS WITH RETAIL PARTNERS TO ACQUIRE FOOD AND RESOURCES THAT CAN BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT OF THE FOOD BANK’S MISSION. THE RETAIL SOURCING SUPERVISOR WILL DRIVE TO INCREASE RETAIL DONATIONS THROUGH ANALYZING DATA WHILE STRENGTHENING EXISTING DONOR AND AGENCY RELATIONSHIPS. THE RETAIL SOURCING SUPERVISOR WILL COLLABORATE WITH THE FOOD SOURCING MANAGER ON STRATEGIES TO REACH ANNUAL PRODUCT POUNDAGE GOALS BOTH LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY. THE RETAIL SOURCING SUPERVISOR WILL REPORT TO THE DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
BUILDS AND NURTURES RELATIONSHIPS:
SUPERVISE THE ACFB RETAIL TEAM AND COACH THEIR INTERACTIONS WITH CURRENT RETAIL SOURCES, AGENCIES AND LOGISTICS RESOURCES.
COORDINATE REGULARLY SCHEDULED CONTACTS FOR TEAM WITH, FOR SELF AND RETAIL COORDINATORS, TO RETAIL PARTNER STORE LOCATIONS AND ENABLED AGENCIES WITHIN ACFB SERVICE AREA TO SOLIDIFY RELATIONSHIPS AND ENCOURAGE MAXIMUM DONATIONS.
CULTIVATE NEW RETAIL DONORS, INCREASE THE DONATIONS OF EXISTING RETAIL DONORS, MAINTAIN AND STRENGTHEN ALL EXISTING RELATIONSHIPS INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL.
COLLABORATE WITH THE PARTNER RELATIONS TEAM TO IDENTIFY APPROPRIATE AGENCIES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE RETAIL PROGRAM (ENABLED OR DROPOFF) BASED ON DEFINED GUIDELINES.
ANTICIPATE, MITIGATE AND RECOMMEND RESOLUTIONS FOR ISSUES THAT MAY ARISE BETWEEN RETAIL AND AGENCY ORGANIZATIONS
MAINTAIN AND GROW RELATIONSHIPS WITH FEEDING AMERICA AND ALL RETAIL DONORS.
DATA AND ADMINISTRATION:
CREATE, ANALYZE AND DISTRIBUTE REPORTS AND MAINTAIN EXISTING DATA SPREADSHEETS, CHARTS, AND GRAPHS WITH AN ACTION PLAN WHERE APPLICABLE.
IDENTIFY OPPORTUNITIES TO OPTIMIZE AND INCREASE AGENCY ENABLED PICKUPS
MONITOR AVAILABLE DONATION DATA TO ASSESS CHANGES IN DONATIONS AND REPORTING. DRAFT RECOMMENDED ACTIONS BASED ON RELEVANT CAUSES.
ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN INTERNAL STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS TO SUPPORT PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND COMPLIANCE TO PROGRAM & FOOD SAFETY GUIDELINES
REPORT PROGRESS TO DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY ON METRICS AND UPCOMING RETAIL STORE
TRAINING
TRAIN TEAM MEMBERS ON PROCESSES, POLICIES AND JOB PERFORMANCE ROUTINES
COORDINATE THE ONBOARDING OF NEW RETAIL PARTNERS AND NEW PARTICIPATING AGENCIES (ENABLED OR DROP OFFS) ON ACFB RETAIL PROGRAM POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND REPORTING.
CONDUCT ANNUAL REFRESHER TRAINING, AND AS-NEEDED TRAINING ON POLICY & PROGRAM UPDATES
RECOMMEND UPDATES AND SUPPORT SCHEDULED REVIEW OF THE RETAIL PROGRAM PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT, INCLUDING RECOMMENDING REMOVALS FROM THE PROGRAM.
PARTICIPATE IN FEEDING AMERICA AND OTHER TRAINING AS NEEDED.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
• BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) YEARS OF RETAIL AND /OR DISTRIBUTOR SALES, CUSTOMER SERVICE, DONOR SOLICITATION OR RELATED EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE IN LEADING, MOTIVATING AND/OR COORDINATING OTHERS
DETAIL-ORIENTED WITH AN ABILITY TO PRIORITIZE AND PERFORM MULTIPLE TASKS CONCURRENTLY WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION
MUST HAVE GOOD FOLLOW-UP SKILLS AND THE ABILITY TO RESPOND TO CUSTOMERS IN A TIMELY MANNER
ABILITY TO COLLABORATE WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS
