    Job Description

    THE ATLANTIC GROUP HAS PARTNERED WITH A LARGE HEDGE FUND IN THE MANHATTAN AREA. THEY HAVE AN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR A FINANCE ASSOCIATE TO JOIN THEIR TEAM. THIS POSITION IS A FULL-TIME CONTRACT ROLE WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME PERMANENT BASED ON PERFORMANCE.

     

    SCHEDULE: Hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office, 2 work from home) in the NYC office. Must visit the Stamford office once a month.

     

    SUMMARY:

    The Market Data & Research Finance team operates as a small business entity within the fund reporting directly to Finance Management. The team is focused on supporting the delivery of research and market data services to a large and diverse global user community consisting of Portfolio Managers, Traders, Analysts and support staff. The users rely on an extensive and varied supply of research and market data services in order to maintain a competitive position within the industry.

     

    The MDR Finance team works closely with the Market Intelligence Sourcing team, which investigates and procures new data sources for the firm. MDR Finance is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative and accounting support in the management of the firm’s market data and research spend. The team is responsible for maintaining all inventory of market data services in the firm’s inventory database and allocating and recording all associated expenses. MDR Finance reconciles and processes all market data invoices and works with vendors to resolve discrepancies. The team is also responsible for managing procurement of certain market data services. Finally, the group manages both internal and external reporting, budgeting and project initiatives.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    -Administer invoices for market data and research invoices as needed

    -Maintain inventory in the firm’s market data inventory management database (FITS)

    -Provide close working support to Market Data’s Business Analysts

    -Support monthly close processes

    -Oversee finance and administration relationship with vendors, including exchange reporting

    -Procurement of certain market data services

    -Seek ways to automate and streamline market data processes

    -Oversight of soft dollar and sales/use tax policy and administration

    -Assist with budgets, ad hoc reporting, and special projects

     

    WHAT’S REQUIRED

    -Strong analytical ability, familiarity with data analysis and database tools important

    -Accounting or Finance degree preferred, but will consider other educational backgrounds/equivalent work experience. Some exposure to Information Technology (IT) in an academic setting is helpful.

    -1-3 years experience in an accounting, finance, IT or market data environment, will consider recent graduate

    -Facility with Excel essential, exposure to Workday and other database tools desirable

    -Market data, Accounting, Accounts Payable, or Account Management experience desirable

    -Experience with market data inventory management tools (FITS or similar) helpful

    -Detail oriented, strong team player, genuine interest in market data in an asset management environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills

    -Must be fully vaccinated
