    WHAT A NETWORK SECURITY ADMINISTRATOR DOES:

    Assess system vulnerabilities for security risks and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintaining computer networks and systems including Firewalls, VPNs, routers, and other physical network hardware.
    • Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues
    • Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected
    • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks
    • Installing, administering, and troubleshooting network security solutions.
    • Updating software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
    • Performing vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying, and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans.
    • Configuring security systems, analyzing security requirements, and recommending improvements.
    • Monitoring network traffic for suspicious behavior.
    • Creating network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
    • Consulting with staff, managers, and executives about the best security practices and providing technical advice.
    • Configuring and supporting security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.
    • Keep informed regarding pending technology/industry changes, trends, or best practices.
    • Training staff to understand and use security protocols.

    REQUIRED KSA'S:

    • Knowledge of security network devices (firewalls, switches, SIEM, Antivirus, etc.) and other security networking hardware/software tools.
    • Demonstrated understanding of information security concepts, standards, practices, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, TCP/IP and related protocols, device monitoring and log management and event monitoring/reporting.
    • Strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems
    • Solid experience with enterprise AV software
    • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational skill and be able to attend to prioritize projects.
    • Proficiency in English
    • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
    • A high level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive employee information.
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple problems simultaneously
    • Ability to work with and/or without close supervision.
    • Ability to communicate non-technical and technical matters effectively, both verbal and written.
    • Regular and reliable attendance as scheduled or requested
