  • Responsibilities

    Creates strategic events across the enterprise. Takes a hands on approach to lead the planning, direction, and implementation of Trustmark’s critical events and meetings for both internal and external audiences. Advises management in developing and promoting organizational events. 

     

    Coordinates event objectives including but not limited to venue, personnel, catering, transportation, entertainment and activities, agenda, speakers, safety, and audio visual equipment. Defines the target audience and aligns special events accordingly. Monitors and controls event budgets, negotiations, and contracts.

     

    Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management. Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization. 

     

    Required Skills

    Ability to design and execute events that advance business strategy and reinforce and extend the Trustmark brand.  

    Possesses research and creative problem solving skills as well as negotiation, project management, budgeting, collaboration, thought-leadership and exceptional written and oral communication skills.  

    Leads and directs the work of a direct report and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.

    Lead collaborative teams across a matrix environment.  

    Experience in the following areas:

    • Finding & booking venues
    • Procuring and liaising with vendors and suppliers
    • Developing and communicating RFP's
    • Negotiating quotes and agreements
    • Handling logistics and on-site crew and event management
    • Budgeting and invoicing
    • Project management
    • Determining, gathering, and reporting metrics post-event

     

    Required Experience

    Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience.
