    Job Description

Interested in the science of how people learn? Interested in applying that science to produce product training? Interested in using your analytic skills to measure how effective the training is? The world of training is quickly evolving from an instructor/classroom model to one where we deliver short focused training on exactly the topic people want, in product, at the time they need it. Join the Atlassian University team as a summer intern and be part of this revolution.

We design and develop the content people need to use Atlassian products effectively as they work. We work across all areas of the company, from engineering to marketing and technical support. We focus on using Atlassian products, addressing all types of users from developer to administrator, from novice to expert. For content, we dig wide and deep, teaching basic use to the most technical details an administrator needs to know. On the technology front, we use best-of-class multimedia learning technology to develop our self-paced training.

This internship gives you an opportunity to start your career in a multifaceted way. If learning theory is your cat’s meow, then look no further – you’ll get all the experience you need to jump start your learning career. If you have technical career goals like Engineering, this can be the perfect broadening experience, immersing you in how other groups in the company work and in how the customer interacts with the products you’ll yearn to build.

    About you

This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the fast paced, dynamic world of a software company. You’ll learn more about Jira than you could have imagined – you never learn a topic more deeply than when you teach it. You’ll experience how the customer uses it, how Engineering develops it, how Marketing positions it and how Technical Support supports it. We are moving into a new realm of in-product training – challenge yourself to figure out what works best from a learning theory context, then how to measure its effectiveness. Dig in, figure things out and make your voice heard – the team is eager for your input.

Here’s how we picture the intern joining our team

Has foundational knowledge in computer science. We want you comfortable, from day 1, with technical topics you’ll encounter as you work with Jira.

Has strong interest in how people learn and even better, is skilled at assembling knowledge in a way people eagerly consume and learn from

Can juggle multiple projects at the same time, prioritize tasks, and learn new skills quickly

Has excellent written and oral communication skills

Is highly motivated, curious, and passionate about focusing on the details

Is currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship, graduating by June 2019

       Can commit to a full-time (40hrs / week) internship between June 2018 - August 2018
