    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Atomo Coffee is currently looking for a production technician who is self-motivated and driven to succeed! You are highly efficient  and understand the importance and excitement of working in a start-up environment, which includes wearing many hats, being flexible with timelines and direction, and having many opportunities for growth within the organization. This is an entry level position.

    This role will be a key member of the production team at our Pilot Production Facility in SODO Seattle, WA. This is a physically demanding role, with duties including shoveling raw materials, working in dry and wet production environments, and repetitive muscle movement. This role will report directly to the Production Manager. Opportunities for both First and Second Shifts are available.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Operate all assigned equipment safely and efficiently

    • Work cross functionally with the research and development team to fine tune product output

    • Ensure the required materials are available for production, and that the factory is safe for all coworkers

    • Inspect machinery and report any faults to management and colleagues.

    • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as cleaning machines

    • Verifying accuracy of work

    • Ensure that work area is clean and safety standards are followed

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Prior food or beverage manufacturing experience; roasting or brewing preferred 

    • Ability to lift 25lbs over head repeatedly and safely is a must

    • Attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization

    • Committed to being a team player and understands the importance of flexibility in a startup environment

    • Understands the importance of good stewardship: teamwork and community involvement

    • Hand/eye coordination and mechanical aptitude

    • Capable of learning operation skills and utilizing them during the operation of the equipment

    • Self-motivated, rigorous, and reactive, often times with minimal supervision

    • Strong drive for resolution when it comes to problem solving

    • Work performance must demonstrate a sense of urgency

    • Excellent attendance and a solid work history are a must

    • Forklift certification preferred, but not required. Will train

    • Basic computer skills required

    • HS Diploma, equivalent or higher

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

    • Stand for extend periods of time 

    • Walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and climb over equipment within the production area as well as loading zones

    • Converse in a range of environments from loud production areas to office space.

    THE EMPLOYEE MUST BE ABLE TO: 

    • Use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

    • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds often, using proper bending and lifting. Lift 25 pounds overhead repeatedly and safely.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, depth perception, color determination, hand/eye/foot coordination, and the ability to adjust focus. 

    • Other required abilities include reading, calculation, measuring, planning, interpreting, explaining, and compiling data.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however louder noise levels may be experienced when production is occurring or when maintenance work is being performed. Environmental conditions in the plant include exposure to elevated surfaces, vibration, moving objects, noise, slippery floors, electrical hazards, heat, and mechanical hazards.

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    PAY RANGE: DOE $20-25/hr, FT non-exempt
