  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for an experienced legal assistant who can help the busy attorneys and paralegals at our law office assist our clients. You’ll be responsible for managing office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and ensuring our legal team is aware of upcoming deadlines. You’ll also assist with preparing legal documents and contracts, and perform any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently. Responsibilities: • Take care of administrative tasks and office correspondence by answering phone calls and emails, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and informing the team of upcoming deadlines • Ensure client billing is processed properly using daily time records with assistance from the accounting department • Complete legal research as needed under the supervision of attorneys and paralegals • Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly • Assist with the creation of various litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents a needed • Sorting and organizing digital documents • Entering data into spreadsheets, documents, and forms • Scheduling calls, meetings, and mediation sessions • Retrieving documents from clients and other law firms • Assist with the creation of various legal documents, and proofread documents as needed • Undertaking other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently Qualifications: • Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills • Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment • 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant • High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree is a plus • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs Compensation: $32,500 - $52,500 yearly DOE
