Business Immigration Senior Attorney — Los Angeles or San Francisco
A business immigration attorney with at least three years of experience is sought for a full-time hybrid position based in Los Angeles or San Francisco. The role focuses on a high-volume portfolio of employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant matters and requires regular collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and firm leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employment-based immigration matters, including H-1B, TN, E-3, L-1, PERM, I-140, I-485, and EB-1 matters.
- Lead case intake, identify legal and procedural issues, troubleshoot complications, and establish case strategy.
- Review petitions, applications, supporting documentation, and related filings for accuracy and legal sufficiency.
- Draft and oversee complex responses to Requests for Evidence, Motions to Reopen, appeals, and Department of Labor audit responses.
- Serve as a primary client contact and counsel corporate clients and foreign national employees regarding strategy, requirements, timelines, risks, and next steps.
- Supervise three to four paralegals, assign work, review work product, and support professional development.
- Monitor case progress through case-management and reporting systems and maintain accurate case data.
- Participate in client meetings, webinars, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Admission to a U.S. state bar and current legal eligibility to practice in the United States.
- At least three years of business immigration experience.
- Experience handling employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant matters.
- Strong legal writing, organization, judgment, attention to detail, and client communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and productivity in a deadline-driven, high-volume practice.
- High-volume business immigration and paralegal supervision experience is strongly preferred.
- PERM experience is preferred but not mandatory where the candidate demonstrates an ability to learn additional case types.
- Experience with immigration databases, Excel, Outlook, and related technology is preferred.
- Ability to consistently meet the required in-office schedule for the selected location.
Compensation & Benefits
- The stated annual salary range is $130,000–$220,000, with compensation based on experience and qualifications. Work Arrangement & Locations
- This is a full-time hybrid position available in Los Angeles or San Francisco, California.
- Los Angeles: Three days per week in the Los Angeles office.
- San Francisco: Two days per week in the San Francisco office.
- Candidates outside the applicable area must be prepared to relocate before starting.
