A public-sector law practice in Citrus Heights, California, is seeking an experienced civil litigator with substantial first-chair trial experience. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys courtroom advocacy, trial strategy, and working closely with government clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil litigation from case inception through verdict
- Conduct discovery, depositions, and motion practice
- Prepare and argue Motions in Limine
- Handle jury selection and conduct trials
- Prepare briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Interview clients and witnesses and maintain communication records
- Attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Keep clients updated on case progress
- Monitor applicable laws and regulations
- Represent public entities in high-exposure civil cases
Qualifications
- 10+ years of civil litigation experience
- First-chair experience in at least 6 jury and 3 bench trials to verdict in California
- Strong knowledge of the California Evidence Code and civil procedure
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active California bar license in good standing
- Experience representing public entities or government clients preferred
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time
- $200,000–$250,000 DOE
- Annual billable-hours bonus program
- 1,800 annual billable-hour target
- First two weeks onsite in Citrus Heights, followed by hybrid/remote work
- Must reside locally in Northern California
