The Litigation Associate will manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution. This role offers significant hands-on experience and direct involvement in litigation strategy, discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, negotiations, and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial litigation matters throughout all stages of litigation
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and related filings
- Conduct legal research and case analysis
- Develop and implement a litigation strategy
- Manage discovery and motion practice
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Maintain direct communications with clients
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices
- Assist with witness preparation and trial preparation
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of commercial litigation experience
- Experience handling contract disputes preferred
- Experience handling business tort matters preferred
- Proven ability to manage cases from inception through resolution
- Strong deposition experience required
- Trial preparation experience preferred
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active California State Bar admission
- Strong writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Client-facing experience strongly preferred
Compensation
- Base salary: $240,000 – $275,000
- Bonus eligibility tied to billable-hour thresholds
- Approximately $50,000 bonus at 1,920 hours
- Additional approximately $50,000 bonus opportunity at 2,100 hours
- Potential total compensation of approximately $340,000+, depending on experience and hours worked
