A respected Southern California litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its construction defect and general liability litigation practice in Los Angeles. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with 1–6 years of litigation experience who are looking to develop substantive insurance defense experience in a collaborative and mentorship-oriented environment.
The firm represents businesses, insurers, professionals, and public entities in a variety of civil litigation matters throughout California. Associates work directly with experienced litigators and receive meaningful hands-on experience managing active litigation matters.
Position Responsibilities
- Handle construction defect and general liability litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and related legal documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare case analyses
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Communicate directly with clients, carriers, experts, and opposing counsel
- Assist with litigation strategy, evaluations, and trial preparation
- Manage multiple deadlines and litigation responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Candidate Qualifications
- 1–6 years of construction defect and/or general liability litigation experience required
- Insurance defense background preferred
- Experience with depositions, motion practice, and case management preferred
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active California Bar license in good standing

- Base salary range of $110,000–$160,000, depending on experience
