The firm is seeking an experienced Law and Motion Attorney who excels at legal research and persuasive writing-someone who is energized by the challenge of crafting winning arguments and tackling complex legal issues behind the scenes.

Role Overview

This position is ideal for a legal tactician who prefers the intellectual rigor of motion practice over managing a docket or making frequent court appearances. You will not be responsible for your caseload. Instead, you will be the go-to resource for drafting high-stakes motions-including motions for summary judgment, demurrers, motions to compel, and sanctions-and for developing creative legal strategies when unexpected challenges arise. Your expertise will directly support senior litigators and influence case outcomes at critical junctures.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and oppose substantive motions such as MSJs, demurrers, and motions to compel
• Identify unique legal angles, defenses, and procedural strategies
• Advise and collaborate with partners on litigation strategy
• Serve as a resource for complex statutory interpretation and case law analysis
• Mentor junior attorneys in legal writing and issue-spotting
• Stay current on legal trends, judicial tendencies, and developments in employment law

Ideal Candidate

• Deep knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure
• Minimum 4 years of litigation experience, preferably in employment or civil litigation
• Proven track record in motion practice and legal research/writing
• Ability to craft tailored, compelling arguments beyond boilerplate
• Collaborative, unflappable, and self-motivated
