A respected California-based law firm is expanding its Public Entity Defense team in Encino and is seeking Litigation Associates to represent law enforcement, firefighter unions, and other public employees in high-stakes employment and civil litigation.

What You’ll Do

• Defend public entities and unions in employment-related disputes
• Handle administrative hearings, bench trials, and contested motions
• Draft and argue briefs, motions, and appeals
• Take early ownership of diverse cases with direct client exposure
• Balance both defense and plaintiff-side litigation for a broader skill set

Who You Are

• A California-barred attorney with 0 to 10 years of experience (first-years welcome)
• Eager to gain courtroom experience and sharpen your writing and research skills
• Drawn to public service, law enforcement, or labor and employment law
• Detail-oriented, curious, and comfortable with responsibility
• Open to feedback, mentorship, and professional growth
• Prior paralegal or legal support experience is a plus, especially for newer grads

The Basics

• Practice Focus: Public Entity Defense, Labor and Employment, Union Representation
• Base Salary: $150,000 to $200,000, depending on experience
• Billable Target: 1,800 hours annually
• Bonuses: Tiered system after hitting 1,800 hours, on-call bonuses, year-end bonuses, and origination bonuses
