  • Responsibilities

    Step into a litigation role where your work directly impacts law enforcement, firefighter unions, and public employees across California. This position, based in Encino, offers attorneys at all stages—especially junior lawyers—the chance to make a difference from day one.

    You’ll handle a mix of plaintiff and defense work, with a strong focus on cases against government entities that often proceed to a decision. This is not a role filled with busy work—attorneys are trusted early with drafting motions, arguing in court, and managing substantive matters. Every day brings new challenges, from administrative hearings to bench trials and appeals.

    What You’ll Do

    • Represent public entities and unions in employment-related litigation
    • Draft, research, and argue motions and briefs
    • Take on administrative hearings, bench trials, and contested proceedings
    • Manage a diverse caseload with direct client interaction
    • Collaborate with colleagues while enjoying autonomy and early case ownership

     

    What We’re Looking For

    • California-barred attorney, 0–10 years of experience
    • Strong research and writing skills are essential
    • Interest in law enforcement, unions, or public service is a plus
    • Experience suing government entities is highly valued
    • Background in paralegal/legal work considered for newer attorneys

     

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary: $150,000 for junior/first-year attorneys; up to $200,000 DOE
    • Bonuses: Billable, origination, on-call, and end-of-year
    • Billable target: 1,800 hours annually (all hours credited, little contingency)
    • Health, dental, vision: 100% paid for employees and dependents
