Position Overview
A growing management-side employment practice is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate with at least 2 years of experience to join its Los Angeles office. This role offers meaningful litigation experience, early responsibility, and direct involvement in case strategy and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent employers in matters involving discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and restrictive covenant issues
- Manage and respond to discovery and oversee the discovery strategy
- Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Support depositions, hearings, and trial preparation
- Collaborate with attorneys on litigation strategy and case development
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar admission
- 2+ years of litigation experience, ideally in labor and employment
- Strong academic credentials and writing ability
- Ability to independently manage discovery tasks
- Team-oriented and proactive approach
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $205,000 to $240,000
- Bonus structure with thresholds at 1920 and 2100 hours
